Kedarkantha Trek

The Kedarkantha trek is a pretty simple trek to start with. Its trail stretches for only 21 km and is scheduled to be covered in a span of 6 days which means each day trekkers need to travel just about 3 km approximately making it a perfect trek for beginners. For anyone who is looking for some time to spend trekking in the snow within the vicinity of Himalayas, the Kedarkantha trek has the best to offer. The viewof this trek is encompassed with the majestic Himalayan Mountains remaining snow clad for a good 4 months starting from December up until March till the summer heat has not arrived. The campsites are absolutely beautiful adorned with green forests, clouds and of course the mountains views on all sides.

You can also witness the jaw dropping sunrises and sunsets of this region from one of these campsites. The horizon soaks the golden rays and turns into faded shades of red meanwhile turning the snow clad peaks into silhouettes of bluish hues. These peaks include mountains from Gangotri and Yamunotri ranges along with Black Peak, Swargarohini and Bandarpoonch ranges. The ideal time to get the best views and fully enjoy this trek is from the months of October to April. The trek is slightly more challenging during winters as compared to the summer months but at the same time the beauty of this trek is incomparable during winters. Monsoon is not a good period to take on this trek because due to rainfall the path gets slippery and it even gets difficult to pitch tents.
